Alex is a Melbourne based writer and director with a passion for genre films.

 







 

His award-winning short films have screened internationally, including selections at prestigious festivals like Palm Springs ISFF, Raindance, Screamfest, and multiple years at the Vancouver IFF. Notably, his short Tinglewood received an AACTA nomination for Best VFX, and his recent works Evie and Home premiered at the Sitges Film Festival and the St Kilda Film Festival opening night, respectively. 

In 2014, Alex won Screenwest’s Director’s Attachment program, shadowing David Petrarca on Netflix's Marco Polo in Malaysia. His feature scripts have gained industry acclaim: Locked In won the 2017 Shore Scripts Screenplay Competition, placed in the Monte Miller Awards and is currently optioned and in development with producer, Cathy Rodda. In 2020, his feature Cul de Sac was short-listed for major competitions, placing in the top 2% across Coverfly, the Page Awards, Shore Scripts, and Screencraft. 

Alongside his film work, Alex is the Creative Director at NAB’s internal agency, where he leads storytelling and content creation for one of Australia’s top banks, combining strategic insight with creativity to enhance the bank’s brand and reputation. Currently, he is collaborating with producer Cathy Rodda to bring Locked In to production, while continuing to innovate in both corporate and independent filmmaking.
